Today's productions demand actors that can move people. O.T. Fagbenle is one of those rising stars that is answering that call. The British-Nigerian actor has added many accomplishments to his name. The latest production to feature his talents is The Handmaiden's Tale, an adaption of Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel and the way O.T. Fagbenle manages to connect with his audience convinces me that there is much more he has to offer.
With Season 2 fast approaching (October 27) it's almost time delve back into the show's fantastic world of nostalgia inducing pop culture references, incredible acting, and strange supernatural creatures. If you haven't jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon yet, then what are you waiting for?
With his first truly new standup special set to air December 31st (The Age of Spin and Deep in the Heart of Texas) and his first ever Emmy win, Dave's career has been looking brighter than ever. It's been looking more and more like he made the right decision back in '07 to step away from the spotlight. If there's any such thing as karmic justice then he might just be the living proof.
The haters have spoken...well, more like Netflix has spoken. No more Miranda Sings and no more Haters Back Off, and that's a real shame because it was a truly unique show that championed the fact that it's alright for people to be their truly weird and gross selves.
We're back with the first new show of 2018 and we open things up by taking care of some housecleaning, discussing our holidays and resolutions for the new year, then movie into impressions of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the backlash Dave Chappelle is facing and whether we think society is too easily offended. Then we end things talking about shows and movies we've been watching over the holidays and if Oprah is a bit of a hypocrite.
This season felt a bit off pacing wise (and not just due it's disjointed nature) and I didn't find myself clamoring for the next episode like I was in the first season, but it progressively got stronger towards the end with some great scenes and their best season finale yet, leaving me re-energized and excited to see what will unfold in Season 4.
Season 1 of The Gifted was a seriously flawed first season that still showed a lot of flashes of promise, especially in the back third. If they can build off of those great moments, add more levity, and ease off the caricatures then it can truly grow into something special, a la Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
True Detective Season 1 got us hooked on its plot twists and mystery, but it didn't do anything beyond that. True Detective Season 2 is where Pizzolato's talent for writing dark, melancholic and deeply human noir unfurls. Just like in his debut novel Galveston.

Sure, there are reasons to be skeptical about the Sopranos revival. The flashback episodes of The Sopranos were never among the show’s better episodes, and the time period change alone indicates that however great it is, the movie won’t be the Sopranos that we remember. Even so, David Chase has been missed, and I can’t wait to see what he does with this project. Just don’t expect it to give you the Sopranos answers you never got from the show the first go-around.
Nickelodeon announced in late March that it was parting ways with Dan Schneider, the producer behind several of its most successful and impactful kids’ shows. Most of the Hollywood trade press’ stories about Schneider’s departure stuck to the story of them parting ways to pursue other opportunities, but the long running rumors of sexual abuse have intensified as of late, and against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement there's been much speculation that Schneider would be the next domino to fall.

Not only has comic book content dramatically changed over the last 20 years but so has the average comic fan. This 3 part series aims to expose societies outdated image of comic culture while exploring modern comic genres as art forms which encompass hip hop, feminism, civil rights, LGBT, and politics.
Riverdale is everything that shouldn't work together...working together in a way that is so wrong, yet oh so right. In a world where cable TV often seems like a wasteland littered with reboots and spin offs (and on occasion a totally original show), Riverdale is a uniquely original and totally welcome addition.
When Larry David announced in the summer of 2016 that Curb Your Enthusiasm would return for its first season on HBO since 2011, it was cause for rejoicing for fans of the groundbreaking comedy. But for a number of reasons the new season felt like a sitcom in its final throes and past its prime, like the subpar later years of How I Met Your Mother or The League.
This season is more enthralling, more cinematic, has more creatures from the ‘upside down’ dimension, and retains its spectacular visual effects, but the writing does leave some major plot holes and a certain amount of illogical circumstances. Hopefully in Season 3 they'll flesh out some of the newer character additions a bit.
The Good Place presents the topics it addresses in a way that is engaging and thought-provoking (end of the first season, hello!), and it proves that TV has the potential to at least cause us to ponder about ourselves, or even to transform us into better human beings - and that's a good thing.
Trevor Noah exhibits a fluent creative energy and mastery of many arts - he's a writer, a TV presenter, a stand up comedian, an impressionist, a polyglot, an intrepid voyager, and a man straddling many cultures. Coming up the hard way through Apartheid South Africa he's manage to deliver on point stand up specials, become a bestselling author, and score hosting duties on the iconic Comedy Central news satire program, The Daily Show, becoming people's go-to voice about the issues plaguing us today.
Once Netflix got ahold of all ten seasons of what seems to be regarded as the pinnacle of '90s programming, I no longer had an excuse for not investigating further. Also, I was kind of over not understanding references and wanted to see what all the hubbub was about.
Oh look, here I go again giving my late-ass opinion about a show that's been off TV for a while! However, it's The Office and there's no such thing as a bad time to start such a miraculous journey. So what's so special about The Office, you say? Let me tell you...
We're back (Shannon, Dareece, and Dario) and we're ready to discuss our thoughts about the Oscars and most importantly see who won from our prior predictions. But first we open by getting Shannon and Dario's opinions about Black Panther and close with discussions about Lion King 2, Sandlot 2, and Disney's continued (lackluster) effort at making live-adaptations of their classic animated films - which spawned the meme worthy phrase, "You don't know about Kovu bro?!". As well, as Shannon's Top 5 Stephen King adaptations and new shows like Counterpart and Hap and Leonard that you should all check out.
Jessica Jones is vastly different than any other super hero property out there so if you go into it with that mindset there a fairly interesting dramatic, pseudo-noir story being told here; along with answers to long running questions about her past and potential for future highly personal conflicts.
