As if Food, Inc. and What The Health hasn’t had people’s stomachs churning enough already, we get yet another look at our out of control food industry with the Natalie Portman narrated Eating Animals. They haven’t all been the most truthful or non-misleading but they sure have been effective. As we said last roundup, policing in America has become an increasing topic of interest in upcoming movies, and Monsters And Men looks like it’s taking an almost Crash-esque approach to the topic with a look at the issue from both sides as they barrel down a head on collision course. It looks intense to say the least. There’s been a lot of questions about the MCU after the landscape changing events of Infinity War, specifically where Marvel would take things with their upcoming slate of movies. We think it’s the right idea to come back with a much smaller scale (pun intended) super hero tale with Ant-Man and The Wasp, and while we don’t get any hints as to when things take place on the timeline, it looks like it has everything we loved about the first one but times 1000. Not to mention that The Wasp looks like an absolute badass. We’re ready for one of the funniest Marvel franchises to make it’s big return.
While we liked Season 1 of Luke Cage, we didn’t quite love it. But the trailer for Season 2 looks like it might address many of the issues we had with that first season and the new villain looks like a real beast and a force to be reckoned with. And we’re still loving the soundtrack and direct injections of real-life pop culture. They’ve been teasing this for a while but we finally got our first look at the second?, third? (we’ve lost count), reboot of the beloved Predator franchise. We are still highly skeptical of how good it will be, especially with the questionable Stranger Things-like direction it appears to be taking, but it does have a fairly impressive cast and director and you can’t take the franchise much lower than it’s already been taken, so we’re naively optimistic before we ultimately get our hearts ripped out once again.
