As you all know by now we love spotlighting others who we think are doing something special and represent that fearless mentality. With this next spotlight I knew absolutely nothing about these guys a month ago, that was until I got a message in our inbox asking about the Spotlights we do. They happened to stumble upon our first Spotlight we did on Loveless City, and were interested in getting their own, so they sent over some of their information and I have to say I was quite impressed....
The Suitcase Junket may have welcomed more people into the studio, but live it’s still a solo affair—which isn’t to say he doesn’t get a little help. With a quick wit and wry smile, Lorenz pulls the crowd in and makes them as much a part of the performance as himself. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.
Our collection of photos from our recent visit to "El Museo Del Barrio @ SVA : May Contain Moving Parts" at the School of Visual Arts Chelsea Gallery.
This year, the Newport Folk Festival curated a lineup with surprise guests that no one ever would have imagined. From Joni Mitchell and Brandi Carlile to Japanese Breakfast to The Roots, this year's festival was glorious and will surely go down in history.
Rodrigo y Gabriela brought their signature propulsive performance to bear song after song—punctuated by quieter moments of conversation where both ruminated on the individual and collective journeys that brought them to this point. Check out our full collection of shots from a great show.
Staple crowd pleasers like “K.D.V.” and “Middle Fingers” were expected features of the set, but MISSIO's true measure of growth came in the final song of their set: “I See You”, and the emotional side of the band translated perfectly live.
You know when you have a plan for how everything is going to play out and then when it’s go...
All Them Witches has a sound deeply rooted in both blues and classic metal: stripped-down, driving rhythms, downtuned, fuzzed-out bass, huge, shredding guitar riffs—all matched by haunting vocals. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.

Miami rockers, Torche, arrived in D.C. last week and unleashed their unique blend of “sludge” and “stoner” metal mixed with genres of “shoegaze” or “dream pop” from their latest album.
At 30 years old, Anderson East is just getting started and without question will be one to watch in the coming years. Now in its seventh year, this underground festival is going strong celebrating punk culture and, in the spirit of the DIY community, including the independent labels/records, friends and family, national and international bands.
The spectacle of blazing lights and smoke matched perfectly with the sonic hailstorm the band brought to the stage. In recent years, 9:30 Club has shied away from booking many heavy bands, and Architects’ set was the perfect re-introduction of a raging mosh pit to the venue’s storied floor.
Our community media just got some major gains! A new page to call all it's own and a new tagging system to make it easy to find the type of media you want to see/hear. Discover something inspiring!

Being an artist is tough, but so is anything when your self-employed. I'm not saying I survive on my Artwork alone, I'm saying my goal is to be able to survive on my Artwork alone.
As an Artist, I'm always on the job. I don't wake up and put on my Artist uniform and then go to work, my minds constantly working on improvements and new ideas for art. Even if I'm working at a retail store I'd still be working 2 jobs at the same time.
But calling art my job is a bit misleading. You can quit a job, or change a career, but I am inclined to make art forever. You could say I've discovered my destiny. Its been interesting getting to this point in my development but I've loved every moment...
We caught The Bobby Lees at the DC9 in Washington D.C. and it felt like we were being transported into a '70s punk rock Firebird time machine. A must see live, to say the least.
Arkells eased into the energy of the evening with their driving track “Relentless” off 2018’s 'Rally Cry.' For most bands, a song like this would have left the energy nowhere to go but crashing down—but Arkells are not most bands, and their fans are not most crowds.
