Sub-Radioโs sound wanders through bits of electronica, americana, funk/soul, all while firmly keeping planted in an infectious modern pop sound. Beyond ecstatic that they sold out this hometown finale, they put on a performance that tore the house down.

Staple crowd pleasers like โK.D.V.โ and โMiddle Fingersโ were expected features of the set, but MISSIO's true measure of growth came in the final song of their set: โI See Youโ, and the emotional side of the band translated perfectly live.
Plague Vendor were openers for a recent All Them Witches show at the Rock & Roll Hotel in Washington D.C. Here's our collection of shots from a fantastic set from the group.
Music can transcend its utility to become a powerful weapon, and grandson understands how to wield it in the service of the righteous anger of their message while balancing the entertainment of the crowd. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.
Arkells eased into the energy of the evening with their driving track โRelentlessโ off 2018โs 'Rally Cry.' For most bands, a song like this would have left the energy nowhere to go but crashing downโbut Arkells are not most bands, and their fans are not most crowds.

Simply put, recordings of the songs canโt do the live performance justice. FRENSHIP has to be experienced in person! Theyโre currently on their US Tour through June 5th and should not be missed! Check out our full gallery of shots from the night.
At 30 years old, Anderson East is just getting started and without question will be one to watch in the coming years. East is currently on tour with his full band and Jade Bird with summer dates throughout the Midwest. Regardless of the type of music you think you like, Eastโs energy has something for everyone and is a performer you canโt afford to miss. Check out our full gallery of shots from the night.
In this modern age of overproduction, auto-tune, and digital manipulation itโs all too easy to lose the emotional power of a voice in the chaos. Sometimes it only takes the simplest of setups to filter all that โnoiseโ out and remind you just how powerful that connection with a voice really is. 23 year old London native Freya Ridings has one such voice. Check out the full gallery of shots from the show.
Enter Shikari brought every bit of expected energy and then some. The crowdโs energy was easily that of a group twice the size, and the exchange between the band and crowd was a true spectacle. For this photographer, it was almost enough to set my camera gear aside and wade into the pit. Check out our collection of photos from a fantastic show at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.

Chromatics' set was beautiful to experienceโthe sounds, the lights, the feeling of being in an โ80s-inspired arthouse-meets-noir film. Every member played their part to a teeโat once intriguing, entertaining, and drawing the entire crowd deeper into their world.
The spectacle of blazing lights and smoke matched perfectly with the sonic hailstorm the band brought to the stage. In recent years, 9:30 Club has shied away from booking many heavy bands, and Architectsโ set was the perfect re-introduction of a raging mosh pit to the venueโs storied floor.
HEALTH. Bone-shuddering bass. Pitch blackness punctuated by staccato strobes searing freeze-frame scenes in your brain. HEALTH. Intense darkwave/industrial club vibes with velvet-soft vocals crescendoing to a discordant shriek. Do I have your attention now? Good. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.
All Them Witches has a sound deeply rooted in both blues and classic metal: stripped-down, driving rhythms, downtuned, fuzzed-out bass, huge, shredding guitar riffsโall matched by haunting vocals. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.
Playing to a sold out crowd at Soundstage in Baltimore, MD, Make Them Suffer brought every inch of their considerable talent to bear. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.

Wolf Aliceโs sound is all about hidden sharp edges. Deep dangerous things lurking just beneath the surface until they come exploding out in an all-out barrage. A stage presence that is driven by their music, they visibly feed off the energy of the crowd creating a feedback loop through the ebb and flow of their set. Another band that recordings just donโt do justice to, especially the subtle power of Ellieโs voice. Check out our full gallery of shots and be sure to catch them on tour.
[dropcap size=big]T[/dropcap]here is power in a bandโs genuine relationship with their fans. A tangible connection that is somehow greater than...
Once in a while Iโm pleasantly surprised by an evening that is so intimately tied together that you canโt divorce the performances from each other. Performances that demand to be addressed as a whole rather than cut into distinct pieces. Gordi and S. Carey put on one such performance to a sold-out crowd at DC9 Nightclub in Washington, D.C. Check out the full gallery of photos from their amazing sets here.
Moments when a band is able to completely capture the energy of the crowd and harness it are rarer than one would expect, but with their performance of โMiddle Fingersโ MISSIO was able to do just that. As all 500 concert goers triumphantly waved both middle fingers high, the restless energy of current political and social events was given a momentary catharsis. Expect to see big things from this band and if you can, check them out live on their currently sold-out nationwide tour. Check out our collection of photos from a fantastic show at the U Street Music Hall in Washington D.C.
The High Divers took the crowd at D.C.โs Hamilton Live by surprise and didnโt stop for their entire 60 minute set. Playing a mix of unreleased songs off their new album and favorites from their 2015 album Riverlust, their feel good rock vibes, infectious energy, and larger than life sound made a fan of this concert photographer.
Goodbye June and Greta Van Fleet put on amazing sets for a packed house at DC9 Nightclub in Washington, D.C. on August 26. Goodbye June opened the night with great energy and their unique classic southern rock influenced sound blended with a modern edge. Greta Van Fleet headlined and from the opening chord brought a sonic "tour de force" that pictures just can't do justice.
