It's been a long, twisting road to get to this point and we have gone through so many iterations and deviations that I've lost track. But we've learned so much during this journey, about ourselves, our audience, and who and what we want to be. Identity is such a huge part of life and we've really struggled with properly defining and conveying ours; that is, up until now.

Delano Dunn is an up and coming artist out of NY by way of Los Angeles, California who specializes in mixed media collages. He sat down to talk with us about gaining confidence and embracing being an artist, the meaning behind some of his unique materials, the audience response and interpretation of his work, the influence of Albrecht Durer, and his drive to explore ideas of racial identity, perception, and representation in our society.
Season 1 of The Defenders should have been a fun, hard-hitting romp that delivered on years of build up in a big way that would shape the Marvel/Netflix cinematic universe for years to come. Unfortunately what we got was a soulless, plodding season that under delivered in just about every way possible. Time to bring on The Punisher.
Painted Ruins is an absolutely gorgeous album that delivers some of the densest and intricately layered compositions I've heard all year, delivering hidden nuance with each new listen. It's a moody, cinematic album that's been well worth the 5 year wait. Check this one out now!
Dave East's second album isn't a giant leap forward from his debut but there is much more of an immediacy to his songs that will likely appeal more to a wider audience and it's refreshing to see that bars still matter.
Check out some of this week's most talked about and interesting film trailers like Super Troopers 2, Last Flag Flying, Blade of the Immortal, Killing Gunther, Romeo is Bleeding, and more.
Check out long time LLF cohort, Dareece Walker, in today's NY Times and check out his art featured every weekend this month at the Governors Island Art Fair along with a host of other great artists.
Blue Chips 7000 will represent a return to form for many of Bronson's fan. It's chock full of phenomenal cinematic production, vivid imagery rich lyricism, and quotables for days. It plays things fast and loose and Action Bronson is absolutely razor sharp throughout.
Vic Mensa pens a deeply personal and politically conscious debut album that delivers solid production and lyricism but doesn't deliver the promised star quality you expect from someone signed by Hov himself.
Wins & Losses could have easily been Meek Mill's last great hurrah but with his back against the wall he came out swinging and proved that not only does he belong among rap's elite but that his best years are still ahead of him.
July had a ton of great new albums and music videos from the likes of Meek Mill, JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Lana Del Rey; and it also featured some interesting trailers for Borg vs. McEnroe, The Disaster Artist, and The Shape of Water. We've highlighted some of the best drops over the month and now we're ready to crown the best album, movie trailer, and music video.
Check out some of this weeks most talked about and interesting music videos from Jay-Z, Selena Gomez, Kendrick Lamar, Jaden Smith, Meek Mill, and more.
Check out some of this weeks most talked about and interesting music videos from Beck, Meek Mill, Lil Uzi Vert, Calvin Harris, ZAYN, Kevin Gates, and more.
While Season 7 of Game of Thrones was by no means perfect (it will undoubtedly irk some die hard fans), it was truly something to behold and delivered on it's promises of epic. With only 2 seasons left and 6 years of build up, epic is exactly what I was looking for.
We're back and we're talking about all of the recent developments going on with ourselves, the website, and our new team members, ready to bring you dope content week in and week out. We also talk about recent shows we've been checking out, who's a worse kid - Zach from The Strain or Tariq from Power, give our thoughts about Season 1 of The Defenders, and discuss our cautious optimism for the new IT adaptation. We close things out talking about the Mayweather/McGregor fight and the Jon Jones debacle.
This time around on Cozy Tapes the 'friends' really take away from what could've been some interesting songs. They should've let Rocky carry the tape like the first time, instead we ended up with a couple throwaway hype tracks and not a whole lot more.
Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 is a short, slight detour from what Calvin Harris is normally known for. It's generally enjoyable but doesn't leave much of a lasting impression or take many risks. Here's to hoping for more from Vol. 2.
Check out some of this weeks most talked about and interesting music videos from A$AP Ferg, Taylor Swift, Rick Ross, Halsey, Calvin Harris, D.R.AM., and more.
While there are a few moments in Lust for Life that drag a bit, Lana is still able to wring out interesting narratives and songs from her now familiar melancholic style. As a whole, I don't know if I loved it more than my favorite project of hers, Born to Die, but there are definitely moments in here that I do.
Mura Masa is a fantastic debut for the rising producer full of great features and stellar production that brings together all of his different musical influences to create a sound all his own. Highly enjoyable listen from start to finish.
One Night Only is a project full of great vibes and catchy hooks but it still lacks much of the depth or out of the box creativity that will be needed to take his career to the next level.
In terms of being a major debut, Big Fish Theory was a bit disappointing as he moved further and further into experimental sounds. Some of his raw, matter of fact rhymes were still present but as a whole this album resonated with me far less than any of his previous work.
Check out some of this weeks most talked about and interesting music videos from Miguel, Phantogram, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Fergie, Desiigner, and more.
