Heading up this week’s roundup of new and most talked about music videos is none other than Taylor Swift with her latest single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” It’s not surprisingly the number one hit out right now and even more unsurprisingly, it’s been surrounded by controversy and backlash. But while everyone was caught up in arguing over whether or not she ripped off Beyonce ( which I really don’t see), I’ve just been sitting here wondering why this is even a thing. Not just the backlash, but this song and video as a whole. Sorry, but this is terrible. Calvin Harris continues to milk the success of “Feels” with a second video version of a song that really didn’t need two, Playboi Carti ad-libs through another song, Rick Ross attempts to squash any rumored rift between him and Meek with a by the numbers video for Lamborghini doors, and A$AP Ferg revisits his latest mixtape with an Adidas advertisement disguised as a music video. Rounding things out is Halsey with yet another ‘bad girl’ pop star video somewhere out in the desert and D.R.A.M. presents us with the hilariously NSFW video for his latest hard as hell single, “Gilligan,” that has absolutely nothing to do with Gilligan’s Island. Two words – cheeks everywhere.
