Alejandra O’Leary – ‘”Sunlight”‘ Reaction

Alejandra O’Leary, who we covered before on this site, is back with a brand new project released last month titled “Sunlight”. And much like the previous material we covered, the album is full of shoegaze rock sensibilities.

Many of the songs feel like they’d be right at home in the soundtrack to a ’90s teen drama and it’s full of those big sounds and effects that you would expect from that type of music while still offering something that feels modern and approachable. She brings a personal touch and feeling of authenticity to her music that simply can’t be faked or imitated.

The big emotions paired with her light, airy vocals create a dreamy soundscape that almost assuredly bear out from her Pacific Northwest background. Its almost ‘live’ sounding mix of raw rock, poppy melodies, and soul do the region proud.

“Sunlight” is an enjoyable listen that’s more than worth a listen, or two, or three and showcases her immense potential as a songstress.
