NYC-based pop punkers Shower Beers issue a nostalgic PSA via their newest single “Pete Wentz Doesn’t Know The Name Of Our Band.” Throw on your favorite jeans, order a caffeinated beverage, and prepare to get your Vans dirty, because it’s never a bad time to have a good time in your city.
“Pete Wentz Doesn’t Know The Name Of Our Band” calls down Boston’s We Demand Parachutes to help wax poetic on the sleepless beauty that is New York City. With guitar lines that reek of the T.R.L studio circa 2004 and a bridge sure to evoke fond memories of nights you can’t remember, producer Rob Freeman (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship) yet again delivers a nuanced piece of punk rock that is easily consumed due to its innate familiarity. The title is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the obvious influences this track wears on its sleeve and will inspire you to find that Fall Out Boy/Panic! At The Disco/blink-182 mixtape you made back in grade school.
“Pete” is the 3rd single off Shower Beers’ sophomore EP Miracle on 34th & 3rd, which features a globe-trotting cast of features including Australia’s SoSo, Atlanta’s glimmers, and Orlando’s Outatime! Shower Beers’ singer Chris Diorio says of the track: “’Pete’ represents the vibe we aim to deliver via our music. It’s fun, upbeat, and a bit silly. But it’s also a very real love letter to a city that’s done so much for me. Hopefully NYC loves this song like I love NYC.”
Fans can expect an EP release in Spring 2024. Are you vibing with Shower Beers’ latest offering, “Pete Wentz Doesn’t Know The Name Of Our Band”?
