A24 just released a new trailer for its upcoming surreal drama Tuesday, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and debut filmmaker Daina O. Pusić. Pusić, a London-based writer-director who hails from Croatia, takes a courageous leap with her first feature-length film.
A mother and her teenage daughter must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird. It’s a heart-rending fairy tale about the echoes of loss and finding resilience in the unexpected.
The Hollywood Reporter describes Dreyfus’ performance “[a]s a woman who has pushed away a lot of hard truths, Louis-Dreyfus delves into a sphere of emotion that she’s never before explored onscreen. She gives us not just the psychology but the feelings of fear, loss and resilience that infuse Tuesday, a story with the sensibility of an Eastern European fairy tale.”
Tuesday is set to premiere this summer and along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus will star Lola Petticrew, Leah Harvey, and Arinzé Kene.
Tuesday is the latest offering in A24‘s growing catalog of indie-style films that push the boundaries of what’s real and adds to their long list of notable films set to premiere this year. Will you be checking this one out?
