A24 is back with a brand new trailer for their new Jane Schoenbrun directed horror film, I Saw The TV Glow. This once-in-a-generation new horror film stars Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Ian Foreman, and Helena Howard, with Fred Durst and Danielle Deadwyler. With new original music by Alex G, Caroline Polachek, Snail Mail, Yeule, and more.
A24 has become known for their unique, offbeat films, especially when it comes to horror, and I Saw The TV Glow appears to carry that torch forward. Music also seems to feature heavily in the story.
In October 2021, it was announced Jane Schoenbrun would direct the film, from a screenplay they wrote, with Emma Stone set to produce under her Fruit Tree banner, with A24 producing, financing, and distributing.
It’s the follow-up to Schoebrun’s last movie, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, a tiny indie movie shot mostly on webcams that has gained a cult following over the last several years.
I Saw the TV Glow premiered in the Midnight section at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2024. It also screened at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section on February 20, 2024 and South by Southwest on March 10, 2024. The movie is officially slated for release on May 3, 2024.
The Plot
Teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.
