Indie Rockers PACKS Share New Single and Video “Missy”

A fuzzed-out groover written from the viewpoint of a neighborhood cat

Ahead of the release of their third LP, Melt The Honey, indie rockers PACKS have shared the album’s final single “Missy.” They’ve just returned home from a UK & European tour with their good pals Slow Pulp, and “Missy” is a fuzzed-out groover written from the viewpoint of a neighborhood cat which frequented the practice space the band were using whilst writing in Mexico City. It’s all told from the cat’s viewpoint who hung around the practice space in Xalapa, meowling at the neighborhood tomcat in desperation

She was trying not to look at us, but we could see right through her,” Link says.

The yearning in Link’s voice (“Did I get those fleas to bite you?”) is later accompanied by Lupita Rico, who contributes a spoken word verse in Spanish.

PACKS will be releasing Melt The Honey this Friday, January 19, via Fire Talk. The group’s second LP in 12 months, the record arrives following a busy fall during which PACKS  toured with Geese and Slow Pulp in the US, UK and EU. The record’s early singles “Honey,” “HFCS,” and “Paige Machine” have seen a tremendously positive response from the press.

Much of PACKS new LP was recorded between Mexico City and Xalapa, where the band spent time last March working at a house known as Casa pulpo, an architectural feat removed from the bustle of city life, owned and operated by Wendy Moira, the visionary behind Teatro Lucido, a prominent theatre and music venue in Mexico City.

What do you think about “Missy”? Looking forward to their new LP?
