Marking two months to the festival, Austin Psych Fest has announced new lineup additions + kick off parties!
The news follows Levitation winning Best Festival in The Austin Chronicle’s Music Awards, as voted by the Austin public, taking home the top fest award for the 3rd year in a row ahead of music festival juggernauts like SXSW and ACL Fest.
Levitation follows up their award winning Halloween festival with Austin Psych Fest this Spring, a throwback to the event’s 1960s psychedelic rock inspired beginnings, and showcasing an eclectic and diverse lineup of psychedelic rock, dream pop, and indie rock.
The weekend kicks off with a night stacked high with local legends of Latin psych, Afrobeat, jazz and good vibes: Golden Dawn Arkestra • Caramelo Haze • Jaron Marshall (of Black Pumas) • Cazayoux • The Point taking over two stages at Empire, plus an evening of classic psych / garage with Christian Bland & The Revelators (of The Black Angels) and Gus Baldwin & The Sketch at 13th Floor. Both shows are free with a Deluxe 3 Day Pass!
Two Friday night shows have been announced – Montreal noise punks Metz return to Austin for an APF night show on April 26 with Gouge Away at Parish, and indie rockers Joy Again and Luna Li co-headline Empire Control Room.
Sweeping Promises lead up a list of new lineup additions for the lineup on the festival grounds at The Far Out Lounge, along with local talent Alex Maas, Thor & Friends, Large Brush Collection and Van Mary.
