A New Chainsaw Man Movie is On the Way

The movie is set to continue where the anime left off

MAPPA, the studio behind the Chainsaw Man anime adaptation, has shifted gears to bring fans a cinematic treat with Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze.

While a firm release date is yet to be confirmed, insiders suggest the Chainsaw Man movie is likely to hit screens in late 2024. The movie seamlessly continues where the anime series left off, delving into the Reze arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga (chapters 40-52). Without revealing too many spoilers, Denji, our protagonist, finds himself entangled with a girl who has explosive tendencies.

Denji eventually joins the Public Safety Devil Hunters, a government agency focused on fighting against Devils whenever they become a threat to Japan. The second arc of the story focuses on Asa Mitaka, a high school student who enters into a contract with Yoru, the War Devil, who forces her to hunt down Chainsaw Man in order to reclaim what he had stolen from her.

More details are still to be released, but to hold fans over they’ve released a teaser trailer as to what fans can expect. You can catch up with the anime series over on Crunchyroll.
