LA Trio Polyglam Share Whimsical Indie-Pop Breakup Tale in “Loss”

For Fans Of: Alvvays, The Marias, Beach House

Fresh off their Las Vegas pop-up performance with Franklin Jonas, LA indie newcomers Polyglam have shared their third single of 2023 in “Loss,” available to stream now on all major platforms. Polyglam recorded the track in their warehouse studio in Cypress Park, Los Angeles, where they produce, write, mix, engineer & perform all their music as well as other artist projects, such as Panic! At The Disco, Franklin Jonas, Weezer, & MAX. “Loss” is about the cyclical nature of relationships and explores a painful process: the feeling of paralysis in the aftermath of a failed relationship you took for granted, and the simultaneous realization that you’re supposed to move forward.

“As you pick up the pieces, you find yourself rewriting your last chapter, holding on to the possibility this story isn’t over,” says vocalist Allie Stamler. “Was it a loss after all?”

Polyglam was formed one summer when three acquaintances were left to house-sit a music producer’s home. Like ships passing in the night, they coordinated responsibilities: feed the dog, walk the dog, water the plants. Until one day, they crossed paths and gravitated to the home studio, where an immediate connection was made. Many hot days overlooking the Silverlake Reservoir helped shape their dreamlike, nostalgic tone, and what felt like a true summer camp romance turned into a band.

Polyglam produces, writes, engineers, performs, and mixes all their own music in their studio in Cypress Park, Los Angeles. The trio features Allie Stamler on lead vocals/strings (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp, MAX, Dove Cameron), Rachel White on guitar/keys (Panic! At the Disco, Weezer), and John Sinclair (Weezer, Andrew McMahon) on bass/drums/backing vox/keys.

The band will release more new music ahead of Polyglam’s debut EP; what do you think of “Loss”?
