Sam Tabasi’s New Single “Bloom” Explores Ambient, Blossoming Mindfulness

Gentle atmospheric pads and distant, mournful vocal samples

Initially conceived as/intended to be a comedown album for ravers taking the train home at 6am after a night of clubbing, After the Rave Rush is Sam Tabasi’s upcoming 6-track EP, and “Bloom” is his latest offering off of it.

Leading off the forthcoming EP, “Bloom” earns its name by combining a muted, blossoming synthesizer sequence with gentle atmospheric pads and distant, mournful vocal samples. The track furthers Tabasi’s goals of creating a sonic landscape in which he can explore his own mindfulness, and in turn creates a space for the listener to do the same.

In addition, the upcoming EP features singles “Alsatia & Leslie” (featured on KEXP’s Pacific Notions), “Grand Central,” and a forthcoming focus track called “Outside Walgreens” – an ode to the onslaught of a stiffening daydream that takes you by surprise while you’re waiting in your car for your prescription to be filled.

Sam Tabasi is a Persian-Irish music producer and videographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Known for his indie pop releases under the alias Glassio, as well as having co-written music with artists such as Warner Case, Clubhouse, Charles Fauna and others, his new ambient-electronic project is an attempt to “find stillness in a world that is changing at breathtaking paces.”

What do you think of Sam Tabasi’s latest single “Bloom”?
