Girlfriends Bring the Hype With Explosive New Pop Punk Single “Shut Up & Kiss Me”

They're on tour with Avril Lavigne this summer

The dynamic force that is girlfriends, fueled by the talents of Travis Mills and Nick Gross, are kicking off 2024 with their high-energy radio anthem “shut up & kiss me.” The track explodes out of the speakers as you listen, weaving in songwriting nods from pop punk legends like Blink-182 and Green Day throughout. The release comes ahead of their supporting run with Avril Lavigne as part of her Greatest Hits Tour, kicking off August 14th.

‘’’shut up & kiss me’ is the epitome of what inspired us to make music to begin with,” says the band. “Fast, loud and fun. it’s about trusting your gut, taking a risk and wearing your heart on your sleeve while doing it.”

Fresh off their success in 2023 – selling out the iconic Roxy in LA, sharing stages with luminaries like Machine Gun Kelly and Twenty One Pilots, and captivating audiences on a national tour with The Used and Pierce the Veil – girlfriends have garnered over 100 million streams to date and are poised to carve a new narrative in the music industry.

“Never conform & never give up,” the band goes on to say. “In a world that is easily influenced to glorify the negative, we transform our pain into our purpose. To listen with an open mind, to love with a broken heart and to learn from our mistakes creating a future we can be proud of. No risk is too big, no dream is too small and nothing is off limits.”
