Big Star’s Seminal ‘Radio City’ Album Getting a 50th Anniversary Tour

'Radio City' is one of rock's seminal albums

Big Star’s Radio City is considered as one of the seminal rock albums, and key to power pop becoming a genre itself. Fifty years after its release, Jody Stephens is the sole surviving original member, and he is one of the artists behind a 50th anniversary tour of the album.

The tour will include several big-name artists. Along with Stephens, playing on the tour will be R.E.M.’s Mike Mills, the dB’s’ Chris Stamey, the Posies’ Jon Auer, and Wilco’s Pat Sansone.

The tour dates will take place in August and October, and tickets are already on sale.

All of the involved artists have all been involved in various Big Star-related concerts over the years, including one in 2016 to perform Third and another in 2021 as a general tribute concert to the group.
