Kojak is releasing their 2nd single “Midnight” from their upcoming self-titled sophomore album, for release February 22nd via Littleknown Records. Its an album that runs hot and driving, showcasing a dexterous, rambunctious and at times haunting collection of 8 new songs recorded and produced by David James Allen.
Kojak brings to the table an exciting blend of hard rock riffs, trading guitars and a tight rhythm section creating a rock sound reminiscent of classic and contemporary indie-rock and blues akin to The Allman Brothers, The Black Keys, The Tragically Hip and Wilco. Last month they released “Heading Out” a driving and momentous song about “feeling lost in your current situation, and needing to escape.”
“Midnight”, a song “about hanging on to a moment, or a night in this case, as long as you can, as futile as that can be. One of those nights where you don’t want it to end, whether it be that you’re having a good time, or you don’t want to see what the morning brings. It’s just as much about enjoying the present, as it is about avoiding what is to come the next day.”
