“Even though “Balok” is an actual term in Pidgin English (Bad luck), that’s the term I used to call beer when I was maybe 3 or 4 years old. My pops would be on his desk working and I’d see him with a cold beer and just say “Papa you’re drinking BALOK!”. That memory was unlocked when WVSSIII’s (the producer) friend came back to the studio from the store with a few beers. It was a wrap from that moment. This song is directly influenced by the Caribbean community I grew up with in NDG,” Taigenz says of the track.
