“Love” is the latest single from Michael Abraham, a combination of neo-soul, rock, pop, and hip-hop to create a dark yet dreamy and soothing tune, which feels simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. Thanks in large part to its juxtaposition of a dominant live drum sound with synths and processed vocals.
The track is a collaboration between Norwegian/British genre-bending rapper/vocalist ImYoung and London’s most eccentric popstar Michael Abraham. Michael is fresh off the back of releasing his hotly anticipated mixtape Love & Other Feelings which accrued 9 spins and a tape spotlight interview with BBC radio DJ Abbie Mac. ImYoung is newly back in London after completing his first European tour with the album Forever Young which sold out in his hometown of Bergen in under 10 minutes.
Whilst both Michael Abraham and ImYoung gear up to drop their next respective solo albums, they’ve delivered “Love”, a perfect soundtrack to the night bus home or the ensuing Sunday scaries as we plunge into the winter.
Michael Abraham has been on a tear this year and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. What do you think of his new single “Love”?
