Cat Clyde Kicks Off Headline US Tour + Dates with Margaret Glaspy

Following the successful release of her album 'Down Rounder' earlier this year

Canadian indie-folk artist Cat Clyde released her breathtaking new album Down Rounder to widespread critical acclaim. Following an extensive European tour earlier this year which included headline dates, The Long Road Festival + Greenbelt Festival as well as an appearance at Pickathon in the US, her headline US tour kicks off this week bringing her intimate storytelling and irresistible melodies to enraptured crowds across the country.

The tour opens in Canada with sold out shows in Cambridge and Montreal. The headline run will be followed by a dynamic run of support gigs with Margaret Glaspy next month and 2024 Australian dates including Port Fairy Folk Festival. Today she provides a taste of what to expect by sharing a live video of album track “Eternity”, which was filmed when she played KOKO as guest to Lissie in February.

Down Rounder sonically spans slow-burning Americana to ragged indie-rock, all united by Cat Clyde’s expressive, malleable vocal. Those poetic lyrics are infused with a spirituality and a respect for the natural world around us. The album was recorded in just six days of sessions at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles with producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney).

Based in rural Ontario, Cat Clyde excels at drawing upon old school influences (Patsy Cline, Lead Belly, Karen Dalton, Bobbie Gentry) to craft essential new songs rooted in the present day. Down Rounder is her third solo studio album after her debut Ivory Castanets and the spellbinding Hunters Trance, but she has also released the Good Bones acoustic set and Blue Blue Blue, a collab with Jeremie Albino. She has accumulated millions of streams along the way, including 20 million for her early fan favorite “Mama Said”.
