Fresh off the release of their brilliant conceptual album, the Arctic Monkeys return with a visual representation of the actual moon resort where everything takes place on the album. It’s a lo-fi, ’70s-esque affair that really captures the feel of the music. twenty one pilots are back with the next single to their upcoming album, and the video for it continues their trend of retro-futuristic aesthetics. They don’t make a whole lot of sense but it is implying some sort of deeper story full symbolism and cult like ritualism. While the song itself is just sort of ‘meh’ and reminiscent of 2000s era punk rock/rap. The Internet return with their next single off the fantastic Hive Mind, and the video for it is like a quasi-documentary of a day in the life of the groovy band. It’s a simple concept but really lets the goofy personality of the group shine through.
YG takes us to drip boot camp with his next video and single, “Handgun”; it’s a bouncy affair that’s sure to have your car rattling, while the video is full of the expected street imagery. It’s about that time of the year again for DJ Khaled to tap into his superpower of being able to bring together big name artists for one massive single, and much like the last time these three featured on one of his songs together, “No Brainer” is an almost sickeningly sweet, bubbly pop affair clearly aimed at charting. The video is a faux behind-the-scenes of the making of the video full of a ridiculous amount of product placement. He is the industry formula people.
