This past week gave us a ton of new music videos starting with “Pink Lemonade” by James Bay. It’s the next single to his forthcoming sophomore album and it continues to push the drastically different sound this album will take from his first. As much as I liked that first album, I’ve equally liked everything I’ve heard and seen from this one though. The video is pretty straightforward but that shirt is a sight to behold. SZA keeps the videos from her last album coming with another fantastic visual for her song, “Broken Clocks.” The hazy visuals and adult summer camp theme are perfect vibes for the fast approaching summer and perfectly match the feel good vibes of the song itself. Not done making great music, the ever eclectic Torii Wolf and DJ Premier have teamed up once again for the loosie, “Silent Crow.” It’s just as beautifully haunting as their other records and the accompanying video captures that essence perfectly as it portrays a once bright relationship breaking down into something rotten; even backed up by the home’s matching fall into decay.
2 Chainz is one the most effortlessly funny rappers in the game and he delivered once again with his trap ode to moms everywhere. Watching momma Chainz, Offset, and YG embody their sons’ personas and rap along to their kids’ objectively not clean lyrics is funny as hell to say the least. It only would’ve been made better if he dropped it on Mother’s Day. Diplo and Desiigner team up for a lo-fi, neon heavy night time romp through the city for Diplo’s latest single, “Suicidal.” I’ve liked every guest feature/collab Desiigner’s been a part of lately, hopefully this means we can finally get that long rumored debut.
Check out everything I rounded up below and let me know which ones were your favorites.
