Trailer Roundup 9/18/17

Trailer Roundup 9/18-10/1

Finally! Finally, finally, finally…The Punisher is finally upon us and the new trailer for Season 1 looks every bit as satisfying as his season stealing appearances on Season 2 of Daredevil. It does look like they’re going to be retreading some of his family tragedy storyline however, and that does give me a bit of pause (I hope they don’t dedicate a whole season to it), but my hopes are still very high that this will get the suddenly floundering Marvel/Netflix TV-verse back on track. Just leave those other guys out of it. Another big genre reveal came out in the form of the new Tomb Raider reboot, which is a film reboot of the recent game reboot. A reboot of a reboot(?). And I gotta say it looks pretty…awful; don’t get me wrong, the originals were not good by any stretch of the imagination but Angelina Jolie always felt like her at least. It’s still early and I could be wrong, but I’m not getting good vibes from this one.

In other drops, Wes Anderson returns to stop-motion animation with his usual, oddly charming and intriguing storytelling combined with his immediately recognizable visual style and top caliber cast. Needless to say Isle of Dogs will be one of the most unique films to drop next year. Peter Rabbit is the next childhood story to get the live-action treatment, Stephen King gets his third adaptation of the year with the eerie 1922, and Annihilation and Better Watch Out get my nod for possibly being the surprise must watch films from this roundup. With the latter looking like a twisted, black comedy version of Home Alone; things take a turn for the left and escalate quickly. Check all the trailers out below and let me know which ones were your favorites.
