Trailer Roundup 10/16/17

Trailer Roundup 10/16-10/29

This roundup features a pretty wide range of trailers that run the gamut of different TV and film types coming out in the near future. The almost mythical Daniel Day-Lewis returns with what looks like another scene stealing role – looks a bit ‘dry’, but any chance to see a master at work is a chance worth taking. Netflix continues to steamroll right along with a number of new trailers, one of the most interesting of which being a sort of documentary look (Jim & Andy) at possibly Jim Carrey’s best performances as the iconic Andy Kauffman in Man on the Moon, and just the extreme lengths he went do that role proper justice. They also gave us new looks at Season 3 of NarcosMudbound, and Bright – with the new look at Bright dampening my expectations for it as a whole (looks a bit too generic buddy-cop for my liking).

The two most left-field, and unexpectedly awesome trailers come from Jean-Claude Van Johnson and Louis C.K.’s I Love You, Daddy. I love when celebrities can poke fun at themselves and Jean-Claude Van Damme seems to be reveling in it, and it looks genuinely funny. And let’s be honest, it’s been too damn long since we’ve seen JCVD on screen, even if it’s in the small screen format. Louis C.K. has a very dry, yet very funny style about his comedy and it worked wonders with his hit series, Louie. I Love You, Daddy looks to be in that same vein so I expect it to provide the same dry laughs as before. Check out everything I rounded up below and let me know if I missed any.
