A Special Edition of the ‘Lost In Translation’ Soundtrack is Coming for Record Store Day

The 20th anniversary of Sofia Coppola’s excellent film Lost In Translation and the upcoming Record Store Day 2024 are coinciding, so to celebrate both occasions a special, double, deluxe LP edition of the film’s soundtrack will be available for the Record Store Day (April 20).

The double LP set includes the original soundtrack on the first disc, including score pieces by My Bloody Valentine‘s Kevin Shields and songs by Air, Phoenix, The Jesus & Mary Chain, MBV, Squarepusher, and more.

The second disc was curated by original music supervisor Brian Reitzell and includes more songs that were used in the movie and that weren’t on the official soundtrack by Peaches and The Chemical Brothers, as well as the karaoke scene songs, including “Brass in Pocket,” “God Save the Queen,” “Nobody Does it Better,” and more.

Lost In Translation (Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack) was the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola’s Academy Award winning movie of the same name including Kevin Shields, Air, Death in Vegas, My Bloody Valentine, Squarepusher and The Jesus and Mary Chain. This deluxe edition includes a bonus LP curated by original supervisor Brian Reitzell featuring additional tracks included in the film (but not on the original soundtrack) from Peaches, The Chemical Brothers and more as well as the karaoke tracks from the famous scene in the film.
