Vinylworks is a series of music/art co-creations by the vinyl brand 12on12. As its press release states, “living at the intersection of music, art and pop culture, 12on12 provide cultural icons with a unique canvas to curate the soundtracks to their lives and commission original artwork by leading international artists to create collectible hand numbered ‘vinylworks’.”
So far, they organized projects by RUN DMC x Renna Tolentino, Swizz Beatz x Dean Collections’ Kwame Brathwaite, Takashi Murakami, Ferrari Sheppard, and Travis Scott x Saint Lauren.
Their latest project is the co-creation between artist Richard Orlinski & pioneering DJ & producer Steve Aoki titled Year Zero and its preview is organized on April 28, 2023, in Paris, France.
For the project, Orlinski who is noted as the world’s biggest-selling contemporary French artist prepared a limited edition vinylwork and Steve Aoki prepared a specially selected tracklist. The limited edition vinyl release is accompanied by 40 hand-numbered and hand-finished artist edition vinyl’s, 12 hand-finished and signed prints, and lifestyle fashion pieces featuring this original artwork.
The preview in Paris brings Steve Aoki and leading French artist Richard Orlinski together to unveil the project. Hosted at Paris’s most iconic department store Galeries Lafayette. The event will feature live music, art, and a discussion panel with the artists themselves.
