Saint Etienne are considered as one of the best electro-pop bands around, and the trio’s second album So Tough as a definite classic of the genre. Now, Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs are preparing a special box set to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary.
The box set release was announced by Stanley, who is also known as a renowned albums curator and publicist through his X (Twitter) account, setting the purchase date for December 12, 2023.
This lavish set follows previous anniversary releases of Foxbase Alpha and Tiger Bay and includes: vinyl version of the original album in a gatefold sleeve cut at 45RPM over two discs; So Tough – Remains Of The Day, a 10 track vinyl companion album of rarities and demos, featuring previously unreleased material; “Hobart Paving” a bonus 7’’ single cut at 45RPM; a 28-page booklet featuring new essays and never-before-seen photos; a poster and a reproduction of the original press release from 1993.
So Tough will be available for purchase on Saint Etienne’s website, December 12th.
