A Highly Valued Collection of Beatles Memorabilia to Be Auctioned Off

The estimated value of the collection is now $8 million

A highly valued variety of Beatles memorabilia, including items from John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 peace protest and a controversial greeting card signed by George Harrison, is set to be auctioned off at the end of September. At a value estimated around $8 million, it is considered one of the most expensive Beatles auctions ever.

The online auction of Beatles memorabilia will be hosted by New York’s GottaHaveRockandRoll, with two sessions ending on Sept. 22 and 23.

In addition to the peace protest archive, the auction includes an autographed section of the wall from the band’s breakthrough appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

The Harrison greeting card up for sale features Harrison penning a birthday message in German and signing it “Adolf Schickengruber,” with a scrawled cartoon of what appears to be Adolf Hitler.

Other less-charged items up for bid include a variety of signed contracts, clothing belonging to the Fab Four, recording equipment, instruments, concert posters, and more.
