The Beach Boys Are Next In Line To Receive A New Deluxe Box Set

The box set will cover two of their key mid-period albums

According to a number of sources, The Beach Boys are next in line to release a deluxe box set. This time around the set will cover two of their key mid-period albums, the 1970 album Sunflower and 1971 album Surf’s Up. Both rank among the band’s most mature and best.

The box set was produced by Mark Linett and Alan Boyd, the pair who were behind 2011’s SMiLE Sessions, and the box set also comes with a 48-page hardcover book, featuring unreleased photos, lyric sheets, tape box images, as well as new liner notes by Howie Edelson and new archival interviews with Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, and more.

The super deluxe 5-CD edition of Feel Flows – The Sunflower & Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 features 108 previously unreleased tracks, including live recordings, alternate takes and mixes, a cappella versions, isolated backing tracks, radio promos, and more.

Feel Flows will also be available as an abbreviated 4-LP vinyl box set, and 2-LP and 2-CD editions. Preorders are available now, and you can stream the previously unreleased song “Big Sur.”
