For his next project, David Lynch is teaming up with Netflix again

It has a working title of 'Wisteria'

Film industry-oriented Production Weekly reports that director, writer, music playlist-maker, YouTuber, and weather-podcaster, David Lynch has agreed with the streaming giant Netflix to write and direct a project for them. Twin Peaks fan site (Welcome To Twin Peaks) says that their sources say it will be in a limited series format.

According to Production Weekly, the start date for the production is May 2021 at Calvert Studios, while the release date is still in the works. A Reddit thread back before the pandemic also mentioned an $85 million budget for 25 one-hour long episodes. The same user later added it could also be 13 ‘mini-movies’ (or anything between 13 and 25) and that production planned for 200 shooting days in the Los Angeles area.

Lynch kickstarted his partnership with Netflix earlier this year when he brought his short film What Did Jack Do? to the streaming platform. Over quarantine he’s kept busy by resurrecting his weather reports and uploading original videos to YouTube.

In his podcast weather reports Lynch always plays a song, and Brooklyn Vegan site has compiled a list of the songs Lynch played so far in his podcast.
