The Breeders started out as a creative outlet for The Pixies bassist Kim Deal and Throwing Muses guitarist Tanya Donnelly, and in many ways, their second album Last Splash was not only their best release but one of the seminal albums of the ’90s.
Now, thirty years on, the band has announced a 30th-anniversary reissue of their 1993 breakout album. The album will be available September 22, 2023, through the original 4AD label, and will include two unearthed archival songs. The group is going on tour to commemorate the occasion, too, with Belly, Screaming Females, and Horsegirl joining them at different stops.
As Pitchfork notes, The Breeders last issued an album with 2018’s All Nerve, which arrived after the 2009 EP Fate to Fatal.
