A Tom Petty ‘Live at The Filmore’ Documentary is Coming Up

The film is prepared by Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and producer Ryan Ulyate

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’  Live At The Fillmore (1997)  box set with a selection from a 20-night residency of Petty and the band was released in November 2022, and now Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and producer Ryan Ulyate selected a special setlist from professional-grade recordings of six shows.

This setlist is now a mini-documentary, that is (as Paste puts it), another glimpse into one of the most ambitious multi-night stands ever undertaken by a rock band.

In its 11-minutes, Petty archivist Alison Tavel augments the audio from the box set with insights from members of the Heartbreakers, who reflect back on the band’s motives and expectations going into those dates, which Petty himself described as a career high point.
