Trailer Roundup 12/24-1/6

If you took what Vox Lux appeared to be and removed all of the interesting aspects of it, then you might get something like Teen Spirit. Something that looks more like a spinoff of Glee, and a great way to sell more music. Cheesy and cliche, and I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there that will eat it up. A choose your own adventure style film has been attempted before but never on such a large scale and never with a property as big as Black Mirror. However, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch could be the one to start a new trend in the film industry and they certainly have the pedigree behind them to pull it off. It’s already out and seeing as it’s a series known for how unsettling it can be, we can’t wait to give it a go ourselves. Arctic certainly looks like your run-of-the-mill extreme survival story but having Mads Mikkelsen as a lead is a definite plus and with claims as bold as “a career best performance”, it could be enough for us to at least give it a stream.

While not as haunting as its first trailer, the latest look at The Prodigy, while more generic looking, still manages to keep some of the chills going. I don’t think he’ll be able to give Damien a run for his money, but it’ll probably still be good for a jump scare or two. This is what we’ve all been waiting for! The first look at the follow-up to Jordan Peele’s surprise hit, Get Out, and it more than delivers on the hype. Us isn’t a direct sequel, but it’s definitely in the same spiritual vein as it looks like we’re in store for even more creepy psychological horror with strong racial undertones, and once again his song choice for the trailer is perfect. Nooice!
