LA songwriter Temme Scott has shared her therapeutic new alt-pop track “Healing,” available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. “Healing” was written on the heels of a long stint in residential mental health treatment, and showcases a shout-from-the-rooftops chorus that perfectly emulates Temme’s newfound positive emotional state. It will be featured on her highly-anticipated crowd-funded sophomore album A Long Year, out on September 12th.
“This song is my healing anthem and I’m confident it will resonate with a lot of people,” says Temme. “It’s about feeling good for the first time in a while, and you can hear every part of that clarity when the chorus hits at 0:35.”
Temme Scott is unpretentious. Based in Los Angeles, Scott doesn’t shy away from rawness. Her candid lyrics and folk-pop-influenced singer-songwriter melodies fuse with gritty intonation and soulful but tender vocals to reveal something hiding in plain sight. Vulnerability is her biggest strength, but she’s also, in her own words, “really just trying to have a good time.”
Scott’s music evokes the earnestness of a child playing in a sandbox — though with markedly more adult themes. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, to get dust under her fingernails, so long as she’s being honest with all of us about what she makes and what she feels.
