Chris Emerson aka What So Not stopped by the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. and threw down. Exactly a year after his last appearance, D.C. was ready for more great vibes. Wolf Alice’s sound is all about hidden sharp edges. Deep dangerous things lurking just beneath the surface until they come exploding out in an all-out barrage. A stage presence that is driven by their music, they visibly feed off the energy of the crowd creating a feedback loop through the ebb and flow of their set. Another band that recordings just don’t do justice to, especially the subtle power of Ellie’s voice. Check out our full gallery of shots and be sure to catch them on tour.
"{Fig. 27} The {X} Mutation" is the first solo exhibition by artist Marvin Touré. He presents a body of work that emerges from one question; what if our emotions manifested as physical mutations?

Once in a while I’m pleasantly surprised by an evening that is so intimately tied together that you can’t divorce the performances from each other. Performances that demand to be addressed as a whole rather than cut into distinct pieces. Gordi and S. Carey put on one such performance to a sold-out crowd at DC9 Nightclub in Washington, D.C. Check out the full gallery of photos from their amazing sets here.
Moments when a band is able to completely capture the energy of the crowd and harness it are rarer than one would expect, but with their performance of “Middle Fingers” MISSIO was able to do just that. As all 500 concert goers triumphantly waved both middle fingers high, the restless energy of current political and social events was given a momentary catharsis. Expect to see big things from this band and if you can, check them out live on their currently sold-out nationwide tour. Check out our collection of photos from a fantastic show at the U Street Music Hall in Washington D.C.
The High Divers took the crowd at D.C.’s Hamilton Live by surprise and didn’t stop for their entire 60 minute set. Playing a mix of unreleased songs off their new album and favorites from their 2015 album Riverlust, their feel good rock vibes, infectious energy, and larger than life sound made a fan of this concert photographer.

Political art might not always be the kind of art you'd hang on your wall or play back over and over, but it's the kind of art that spurs actual change.

Simply put, recordings of the songs can’t do the live performance justice. FRENSHIP has to be experienced in person! They’re currently on their US Tour through June 5th and should not be missed! Check out our full gallery of shots from the night.
At 30 years old, Anderson East is just getting started and without question will be one to watch in the coming years. East is currently on tour with his full band and Jade Bird with summer dates throughout the Midwest. Regardless of the type of music you think you like, East’s energy has something for everyone and is a performer you can’t afford to miss. Check out our full gallery of shots from the night.
In this modern age of overproduction, auto-tune, and digital manipulation it’s all too easy to lose the emotional power of a voice in the chaos. Sometimes it only takes the simplest of setups to filter all that “noise” out and remind you just how powerful that connection with a voice really is. 23 year old London native Freya Ridings has one such voice. Check out the full gallery of shots from the show.
Enter Shikari brought every bit of expected energy and then some. The crowd’s energy was easily that of a group twice the size, and the exchange between the band and crowd was a true spectacle. For this photographer, it was almost enough to set my camera gear aside and wade into the pit. Check out our collection of photos from a fantastic show at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.
