Chromatics' set was beautiful to experience—the sounds, the lights, the feeling of being in an ’80s-inspired arthouse-meets-noir film. Every member played their part to a tee—at once intriguing, entertaining, and drawing the entire crowd deeper into their world.
Now in its seventh year, this underground festival is going strong celebrating punk culture and, in the spirit of the DIY community, including the independent labels/records, friends and family, national and international bands.
The evening was truly one high point after another as David dove into the stories behind many songs and poured his heart and soul into every note.
As you all know by now we love spotlighting others who we think are doing something special and represent that fearless mentality. With this next spotlight I knew absolutely nothing about these guys a month ago, that was until I got a message in our inbox asking about the Spotlights we do. They happened to stumble upon our first Spotlight we did on Loveless City, and were interested in getting their own, so they sent over some of their information and I have to say I was quite impressed....
Delano Dunn brings us an intriguing exhibition titled "No One Can Be This Tomorrow". Utilizing rainbows, gold, and other mixed media Dunn creates an intriguing conversation about blackness in America.

In this modern age of overproduction, auto-tune, and digital manipulation it’s all too easy to lose the emotional power of a voice in the chaos. Sometimes it only takes the simplest of setups to filter all that “noise” out and remind you just how powerful that connection with a voice really is. 23 year old London native Freya Ridings has one such voice. Check out the full gallery of shots from the show.
New Release Gallery presents Gerald Sheffield’s first solo exhibition in New York, "Democratic Paradox." Check out our full gallery of shots from the show.
Leonardo Drew's Sculptural abstraction is epic and beautiful to look at. The artist doesn't hint at too much content but lets the audience decide what these black massive forms and compositions mean in the white cube of Sikkema Jenkins gallery.
The music was loud and dark and ominous. There was spit and sweat, moshing and crowd surfing, and the D.C. audience just couldn’t seem to get enough. Thanks to Daughters and the triple bill, it was a memorable end to 2019.
Dawes' live show remains the group’s true apotheosis: a rowdy, rollicking good time that wanders at will through their 10-year, 6-album career while retooling old favorites, debuting unheard tracks, and pulling the crowd together in anthemic sing-alongs. Check out our full collection of shots from the show.
Our collection of photos from our recent visit to Delano Dunn’s new show, No One Can Be This Tomorrow, at the Long Gallery Harlem.

Drake's Summer Sixteen pop-up shop was great promo and an interesting way to reach out to fans and give out exclusive merchandise. If only they could have done something about the wait times and a lot of people unfortunately got left out.
Enter Shikari brought every bit of expected energy and then some. The crowd’s energy was easily that of a group twice the size, and the exchange between the band and crowd was a true spectacle. For this photographer, it was almost enough to set my camera gear aside and wade into the pit. Check out our collection of photos from a fantastic show at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C.
You know when you have a plan for how everything is going to play out and then when it’s go...
