In a playful yet prestigious twist, LEGO and Formula 1 unveiled custom-built brick trophies at the 2025 British Grand Prix to honor F1’s 75th anniversary and the legendary venue’s heritage.
The trophies mirror the classic Royal Automobile Club (RAC) Cup, with the top prize standing ~59 cm tall, weighing over 2 kg, and built from 2,717 LEGO bricks.
First place earned a gold-accented LEGO trophy; second and third got white trophies with red and blue trims, respectively. McLaren, as constructors’ champions, received a special dark blue-and-gold LEGO trophy.
Seven master builders in Billund, Denmark, invested 210 hours gluing LEGO and Technic elements together to ensure podium resilience—and to stand up to champagne showers.
Driver Reactions
Lando Norris, who claimed victory in front of his home crowd, celebrated with the LEGO trophy alongside the classic RAC cup.
Oscar Piastri joked, “How does it feel after 15 years in F1 to get a LEGO trophy you can pull apart?”
Nico Hulkenberg, on his first-ever podium, quipped, “My daughter can play with it too—but a bit of silver or gold would’ve been nice.”
This collaboration, which follows LEGO-built F1 cars parading at Miami earlier this season, reflects F1’s broader strategy to attract a younger, digitally native audience.
LEGO’s Chief Product & Marketing Officer Julia Goldin emphasized the goal to “surprise and delight builders around the world,” paying homage to Silverstone’s legacy with creativity.
