Sherlock Holmes is Set to Receive Faithful Manga Adaptations

Part of the acclaimed Manga Classics series

The legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes, is making his way into the Manga Classics™ lineup, starting with A Study in Scarlet. This adaptation will be a full-color release, bringing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic story to life in a whole new way. The manga, adapted by Crystal S. Chan and illustrated by Julien Choy, promises to stay true to the original novel, unlike many modern interpretations that take creative liberties.

Set for release on January 21, 2025, this manga is part of the Manga Classics™ series, which is known for faithfully adapting classic literature into beautifully illustrated manga. Designed for young adults, these adaptations strike the perfect balance between accurate storytelling and engaging visuals, making them ideal for both casual readers and educational settings. Manga Classics has previously tackled works like Les Misérables and Pride and Prejudice, and now it’s time for Sherlock Holmes to join this esteemed collection.

The first volume, A Study in Scarlet, holds a special place in literary history. It’s the story where Holmes and his loyal friend Dr. John Watson first meet and solve their first mystery together. The plot revolves around the murder of a man in an abandoned house, with cryptic clues like the word “RACHE” written in blood on the wall. This case introduces readers to Holmes’s incredible deductive skills and the unique dynamic between him and Watson.

Pre-orders are now available through local comic shops using the code NOV24 1893, or online through Amazon. The second volume in this series is already planned for release in June 2025, ensuring more Holmes adventures are on the way.
