De La Soul Are Delivering a 20th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue of Their Album ‘Grind Date’

The double LP set features 6-bonus tracks

Hip-hop legends De La Soul are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seventh album, The Grind Date, with a new vinyl reissue. The double LP set features the original album remastered, plus six bonus tracks of rare and unreleased material.

“With the 20th Anniversary of Grind Date we just feel blessed in knowing that we put together this album that, right now, with its re-release feels fresh, it doesn’t feel outdated, the lyrics feel relevant,” says the group’s Posdnuos. “It really feels good to know that with the re-release of this album it takes myself and Mase back to knowing that this album was the first album done outside of our Tommy Boy relationship and it stands the test of time alongside that catalog, so yeah it’s a blessing.”

Released in 2004, The Grind Dates features appearances from Ghostface Killah, MF Doom, Carl Thomas and Common, and production by J Dilla, Madlib, 9th Wonder, and Supa Dave West. You can listen to one of the previously unreleased tracks, “Bigger” featuring Choklate, below, along with the tracklist and artwork for the 20th Anniversary reissue.

De La Soul’s The Grind Date 20th anniversary vinyl reissue is out March 28 via BMG and you can preorder it now on splatter vinyl.
