UK band The London Suede’s new single, “Disintegrate,” is the urgent opening statement from their upcoming album Antidepressants. Their tenth studio album is set to be released on September 5th, 2025 via BMG.
Antidepressants finds the Platinum-selling, Mercury Prize-winning giants of British independent music charged with the energy that defines the unique power of their live shows. Their first new music since 2022’s Autofiction. This fire is what has turbo-charged the Antidepressants sound.
“Disintegrate”’s official music video, directed by Chris Turner (Favourite Colour: Black Productions), was shot in black and white. The visual pares The London Suede’s live performance to its starkest essence, glitching and distorting towards visual ruin.
“If Autofiction was our punk record, Antidepressants is our post-punk record,” says frontman Brett Anderson about the album. “It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called Antidepressants. This is broken music for broken people.”
As well as creating a sonic reaction to the feverish reception surrounding their shows, Antidepressants fully realizes the fourth phase of the band’s career and sees Brett Anderson undertaking some of his most personal songwriting. “Disintegrate” is testament to this reflection. An anthemic acceptance of one’s own mortality, the track flips our universal fear of death into a dark celebration of demise; symbolic of the duality of Antidepressants.
