For 21 years, City Winery founder and CEO Michael Dorf has been organizing annual benefit concerts. The following The Music Of concert in honor of Billy Joel will be held at NYC’s Carnegie Hall on March 12, 2026. The lineup will feature 20 to-be-announced artists, and 100% of net proceeds go to music education programs for underserved youth. VIP tickets and packages are on sale now, and general admission tickets will go on sale November 4, 2025.
The 2025 honoree was Patti Smith, with performers including Bruce Springsteen, Karen O, Michael Stipe, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, Interpol’s Paul Banks, Kim Gordon, Jesse Malin, Glen Hansard, and more.
Joel cancelled all his shows this year after being diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain disorder. A two-part documentary on him, And So It Goes, began streaming on HBO Max this summer, and he’s released a musical companion featuring demos, outtakes, live tracks, and other previously unreleased rarities.
