‘The Last Record Album,’ One of Little Feat’s Classic Albums Gets a Deluxe Treatment

Little Feat’s 1975 The Last Record Album is one of the band’s classics, often overlooked by both the critics and fans. Now, this excellent album will be re-released in a newly remastered and expanded edition by Rhino Records on October 24, 2025, as a 4-CD set and on 2-LPs. Both formats include the newly remastered album along with rarities and previously unreleased studio material. The 4-CD set also features an unreleased recording of the band’s concert at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Halloween night in 1975. Both editions are available for pre-order in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here.

A standalone CD of the band’s unreleased May 1976 show at Charlton Athletic Football Ground in London will also be available exclusively at Rhino.com. The album was produced by Jason Jones—who also produced the Deluxe Edition—and captures Little Feat performing in front of a U.K. audience less than a year after the album’s release.

The expanded edition takes a deeper look at the album sessions, collecting early sketches, raw demos and alternate takes. Highlights include previously unreleased versions of “Mercenary Territory,” “All That You Dream” and “Long Distance Love,” along with an instrumental take on “Day or Night.”
