San Diego’s sullvn released their brand new single “Rooftop.” Kicking in with the horn section at the forefront, the upbeat and full-bodied offering expresses the all-consuming elation of a new love. Singing of feeling so high that you can’t come down, the lyrical excitement is perfectly matched by the energy the band brings to the track.
Led by Robert “Sully” Sullivan, the ever-changing collective is built up of what Creative Executive Lens dubbed “a sonic melting pot of elite players.” The current lineup includes the GRAMMY-nominated bassist James East (Lionel Richie, Toni Braxton, Eric Clapton), the dynamic drummer Tres “Sojourn” Hodgens, globally renowned saxophonist Tomoka Nomura-Jarvis (Andy Grammer, Rob Wave, Fat Joe), and many others. A Southern California party in sonic form, sullvn breaks the mold as they soundtrack everything from a windows-down joyride to a swanky night at the lounge.
“Rooftop” was produced and co-written by Rome Ramirez, known for his work with Sublime with Rome, Selena Gomez, Dirty Heads, Enrique Iglesias and more, during a writing trip in Nashville. Hitting it off naturally, Ramirez has a hand in much of sullvn’s releases this year.
Sully shared that, “This track is pure upbeat adrenaline and heart. It’s about those late-night moments that feel like they could last forever — dancing under stars and falling hard for someone who makes you feel a certain way.”
Throughout the year, sullvn will be spending time out on the road bringing the joy of their live shows to more cities.
