NYC pop artist, Evan Kreutz just released his summer tune “ode to an ex“, the latest single off his upcoming debut EP, look what i can do, set to release this September.
“ode to an ex” delves into the complexities of a love that has deteriorated, capturing the unspoken words and lingering hurt between two individuals who continue to cause each other pain. Kreutz’s emotive vocals and stripped-down instrumentation create an intimate atmosphere, allowing listeners to feel the depth of the song’s sentiment.
At its core it’s a poignant exploration of love lost and the raw emotions that accompany it. Drawing inspiration from the sounds of Summer ‘16, a pivotal time in Evan’s musical journey, Kreutz channels the pain of a relationship beyond repair, delivering a track that is both regretful and tender.
Evan spoke about the track, calling it “Raw, regretful, and tender” and that it is “all the things left unsaid between two people who can’t stop hurting each other.” Expanding the sonic world of Evan Kreutz, the single is just a taste of what else is to come with this debut – a genre blending and brand new experience, that will leave listeners waiting for more.
Known for his eclectic blend of influences, Kreutz combines elements of Harry Styles’ classic sound, The Killers’ alternative rock, and The Weeknd’s spacious R&B energy to craft a unique musical identity. Continuing to work with long time producer and business partner, Douglas Grama, Kreutz doubles down on his fresh take of modern pop music, creating something new that comes alive for the listener.
