Pop band The Aces release “Twin Flame,” the latest single from their upcoming record Gold Star Baby. Opening like a subtle ballad, the song unfolds layer by layer into a full on, glitter-glossed disco groove. Meant for spending a night on the dance floor sweating out the memory of someone you just can’t shake, The Aces have already declared this summer their own.
On the new single, the band shared, “‘Twin Flame’ is about that tortuous in-between of not wanting to let go, but knowing you need to. This song also has a strong Latin influence from the guitar line to the bridge in Spanish. With half of us being Latina, we really wanted to express that part of who we are through this song.”
Last month, the band announced their new sapphic, disco-pop record with the release of the swooning, star-crossed third single “You Got Me.” Sparking a wave of excitement.
Gold Star Baby is a metaphorical club in every city where if you know…you know. But everyone and anyone is invited to the best party of the summer. If their previous album is the backstory of discovering their identity, Gold Star Baby is in turn a celebration of queerness and escapist, pure-pop fun. The largely self-produced album isn’t just an evolution for the 4-piece, but where they’ve been headed all along as they shed the weight of painful transparency and allow listeners to see them arrive liberated
The Aces also announce the Gold Star Baby World Tour with support from Lydia Night, of The Regrettes. Ahead of their headline tour, the band will play at both All Things Go Festivals in New York and Washington DC.
