Irish newcomer Altara returns with his brand new single “pleasedontleave.” The track arrives as a thumping bop that will send you hurtling into the here and now.
Having always held a flame for EDM, “pleasedontleave” leans into Altara’s love for electronica, alt-pop and his ability to fuse early influences into something that’s entirely his own.
Sharing a little more, Altara explained: “Something I struggle with a lot is how much faster life can move than music.
“After I put out my debut single, I already felt that creeping up on me, so I got straight back into the studio to work on how I was feeling..
“I wrote and produced ‘pleasedontleave’ as intuitively as I could. The inspiration came from one particular moment; I vividly remember having an argument & being asked what happens next, and in that moment I said ‘I don’t know, but just please don’t leave.
“I don’t know why but it really stuck with me. I don’t like to think of myself in that place.”
“pleasedontleave” is the follow up to Altara’s debut EP The Lobby, which listeners were treated to at the end of last year. Proudly dynamic and never afraid to push boundaries, “pleasedontleave” arrives as a development in Altara’s sound, starting the year fully charged and ready to soundtrack your 2025.
Having only launched back in August with his impressive debut single “Somebody To Lose,” Altara was quick to win over listeners with his playful and punchy first move. He’s spent the last few years evolving his sound and finessing his production skills which continue to evolve in real time.
