Pop Innovator Daya Returns With Dance-Pop Stunner “Infrared”

Grammy award-winning synth pop innovator Daya has returned with her first single in a year, “Infrared” – a dance pop stunner that introduces fans to a bold, new era of songwriting. The track is available on all DSPs worldwide in partnership with ONErpm. “Infrared” comes just ahead of Daya’s brief run with Trixie Mattel, which includes stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Nashville.

“‘Infrared’ captures this bold, confident bravado while also revealing a sincerity and fragility beneath the surface, which, for me, reflects the feelings of being intimate with someone for the first time,” says Daya.

In addition to releasing new music this year, 2025 also marks the 10 year anniversary of Daya’s career-jolting smash “Hide Away.” Since its release in 2015, “Hide Away” has amassed nearly 700 million streams and gone 4X platinum, providing an expedited path to stardom for the then 16 year old. In addition to releasing an alternate version of the song in April, “Hide Away” has also received new life via Alan Walker’s remix, which has garnered 20 million streams and has struck a chord on social media with 300k+ creates.

Following the initial success of “Hide Away,” Daya teamed up with Chainsmokers for “Don’t Let Me Down” in 2016, a dance anthem that sold more than 10 million copies in the US alone. Global acclaim ensued, highlighted by multiple headline tours and supporting runs with icons like Cyndi Lauper, Carli Rae Jepsen, and others. Daya is her own boss these days, and her unique pop music – dreamily ethereal one minute, rhythmically kinetic the next – has never sounded brighter or bolder. With two powerhouse and internationally recognized DJ collaborations on the horizon prior to its release, this year is going to be one for the books. Most recently, Daya is fresh off her feature on Dom Dolla’s “Dreamin,” which has amassed 50 million streams across all platforms since its mid February release.
