Paris-born artist, producer, and creative MANSO̶U̶R̶ has dropped his new double A-side NEAT kUT – a collection of two songs – “WHY NOT” and “PARIS!” dropped independently.
Emerging as a by-turns bold, frenetic, and emotive release, the double single is built around the explosive posse cut “WHY NOT” – co-produced by MOOKICE and featuring REEM and 00ab, and the deeper, introspective “PARIS!” co-produced by Lamsi and featuring Rxlls.
With further co-signs and collabs from some of the hottest UK artists right now in BXKS, Len, Sam Wise, El Londo, Oscar #Worldpeace, and Odunsi (The Engine), MANSO̶U̶R̶’s warm, rich vibrations affirm his position at the intersection of serious music, fashion, and community endeavours. From working with NIKE and ADIDAS to earning critical acclaim across WONDERLAND, CRACK, and more, the young talent continues to rise as a significant prospect in the rap landscape.
“WHY NOT” sees MANSO̶U̶R̶’s shimmering, glitchy 2-step production create an up-tempo and infectious bed for REEM and 00ab to go bar-for-bar with explosive chemistry, the rappers trading lines on seductive powers, romance, and electric nights. ‘PARIS!” then switches the tempo down to a more nocturnal mode, a glassy, minimal co-production with Lamsi overlaid with sharp keys and synths that allows Rxlls to share poignant introspection and vulnerability to deep effect. The double A-side comes alongside a typically DIY, personality-infused visual for “WHY NOT” that sees MANSO̶U̶R̶ and 00ab bouncing around Paris catching a vibe, with REEM popping up via FaceTime as the two look for a motive and outlet for their creative energy.
Speaking on the double single, MANSO̶U̶R̶ states: “The idea was to create something instinctive and unfiltered, but still deeply musical. Two tracks that cut straight through, no filler – Clean, sharp, honest.”
Growing up in an Algerian and Guinean household in the heart of Paris, MANSO̶U̶R̶ has been exposed to powerful influences from an early age. Making serious waves as an acclaimed DJ at 21, the rising talent sharpened his approach towards hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music, creating cutting-edge sets through his eclecticism and an overflowing, genuine and communicative energy.
