NYC Alt Singer-Songwriter & Producer Tomás Tomás Shares Dreamy New Track “Brought It Down”

Brooklyn, NY-based singer-songwriter and producer Tomás Tomás shares dreamy, cinematic track “Brought It Down” off his debut EP Sweet Sleep. Alongside the track is the serene New York City-set music video, “co-directed by Tomás Tomás and actor Jaeden Martell (IT, Knives Out, Defending Jacob), which serves as part one of a three-part short film.

Tomás Tomás is the artful musical project from Tom Fattorusso whose previous roles include assistant director and composer for campaigns such as the Savage x Fenty Show. Now, with his heart on his sleeve, the artist presents a soothing collection he calls, “music you walk to.” It was built as a refuge from the overstimulation of the world–an effort to get rest for the soul.

Inspired by curiosity, Tomás Tomás says, “Going through life is confusing, and fascinating, I feel like I’m constantly searching for answers and meaning. I tend to reflect a lot, but through 2024 I had little time to smell the roses or any flower of any kind. Eventually I resorted to isolation, and it was liberating. Making this project became my therapy. I still have so many questions about this life, but speaking my mind through sound has brought me so much comfort. That’s truly what this project means to me. It’s an extension of my search for meaning. I reckon this music is best heard while on an evening walk.”

Sweet Sleep is a seven track dreamscape that allows the artist to pose questions on how to cope with reality, eventually concluding the answers may be unattainable. But even that sentiment is more comforting than existing without thought. It was produced across several of his friend’s living room floors, using just his headphone microphone and a Scarlett solo interface. He later collaborated with Alex Black-Bessen and Tim Voet to put the finishing touches on the project.
